Nonprofit Management Internship

Description

Students interning at the Central Florida Commission on Homelessness (CFCH) will have the opportunity to develop their project management and communication skills while contributing to the fulfillment of the CFCH mission. Interns will gain valuable work experience in a fast-paced environment as they help the organization increase in efficiency and meet stringent deadlines. The Non-Profit Management Intern will work with other team members, including volunteers, to segment day-to-day operational activities. In addition, the Non-Profit Management Intern ensures the smooth running of administrative program operations, including purchasing and management/execution of the reimbursements processes for both staff and volunteers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the leadership team.
  • Accounting and financial reporting.
  • Perform day-to-day accounting functions to assure up-to-date financial information and timely financial reporting on a monthly quarterly and annual basis as well as periodic ad hoc reporting.
  • Provide reporting to organizational leadership.
  • Maintain records in accordance with organizational standards.
  • Support grant development and reporting.
  • Assistance with research and data collection.
  • Assistance with department-wide presentations.
  • Assistance with the coordination of special events

Skills & Qualifications

Strategic Communications Internship

Description

Students interning at the Central Florida Commission on Homelessness (CFCH) will have the opportunity to develop their writing, editing, research, visual, social media, and professional development skills while contributing to the fulfillment of the CFCH mission. Interns will gain valuable work experience in the communications, event planning, marketing, policy, and public relations fields as they develop new content and see their work published. They also will have the opportunity to meet and interact with local leaders in government, nonprofits, business, and the faith community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research, write and edit articles to appear on the CFCH website and social media channels, and possibly in news reports or other publications
  • Help coordinate special events, such as H.O.P.E. Volunteer Program, committee meetings, and other events as needed
  • Take photographs at events and post to social media platforms
  • Research special projects, analyze data
  • Assist in the development of collateral material for CFCH
  • Assist with hardcopy and electronic mailings as needed
  • Assist in the creation of website content
  • Ensure that all publications adhere to standard formal English
  • Sit in on committee meetings and complete meeting minutes
  • Perform other requested duties

Graphic Design Internship

Description

Students interning at the Central Florida Commission on Homelessness (CFCH) will have the opportunity to develop their graphics and photo manipulation skills while contributing to the fulfillment of the CFCH mission. Interns will gain valuable work experience in a fast pace environment as they develop new content and see their work published. They also will have the opportunity to meet and interact with local leaders in government, nonprofits, business, and the faith community.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop graphics for social media accounts, presentations, and reports
  • Supporting the design of reports, presentations and other public- and client-facing materials
  • Creation of infographics, editing of photographs, production of drawings and other visual materials
  • Design of materials for presentations for talks and events, websites, emailers and other associated marketing materials
  • Develop design briefs for internal projects through research and internal meetings
  • Prepare sketches, both hand and computer assisted design to prepare detailed designs and artwork
  • Create visual aspects of marketing materials, websites and other media, including infographics

Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in graphic design demonstrable through a portfolio of work
  • Strong design sensibility is a must
  • Proficient with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
  • Proficiency in videography or video editing is a plus
  • Candidate must be detail-oriented
  • Candidate must be a clear communicator
  • Candidate must be proficient with Dropbox and Microsoft Office
  • Candidate must be highly reliable
